Job Title: Grocery Night Lead FLSA Status: Hourly Reports To: Grocery Department Manager Maintains stock levels in the grocery department by replenishing products as needed. Execute the boomerang theory by providing exceptional service to all guests. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Leads, coaches, teaches and reinforces Hometown Grocers culture, guest service, and performance expectations to all Second Shift associates
  • Assists in the onboarding and training of new associates
  • Addresses questions and provides guidance to all Second Shift associates
  • Ensures all department standards are being met in the Grocery department
  • Observes sales floor and back stock conditions; takes action to correct areas of opportunity
  • Maintains appropriate inventory levels and ensures accurate pricing on products received and sold
  • Communicates and works cooperatively with Store Director, Grocery Department Manager and Second Shift associates to maintain standards and exceed guest expectations
  • Assists with writing product orders in the absence of the Department Manager
  • Oversees all sanitation within the Second Shift of the department
  • Provides exceptional guest services by greeting, finding items and answering questions
  • Addresses guest concerns and resolves issues when a guest is not satisfied with the service or product received
  • Assists all department associates with daily responsibilities while leading by example
  • Contributes to overall cleanliness of the department by picking up, organizing, and cleaning work areas, shelving, and sales floor as needed
  • Leads evening team huddles to ensure associates are up to date on department and company information
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Regular, timely attendance in compliance with the work schedule, and adequate notice to find a replacement for occasional absences

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT The physical demands and work environment described below are representative of those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.   • The associate must possess the ability to stand in place for long periods of time; walk in the store; bend, stoop and kneel regularly
  • Requires fine finger and broad manual dexterity, and eye-hand-foot coordination in order to operate equipment
  • The associate must have full range of upper body motion in order to lift stock. Requires the ability to perform repetitive tasks for prolonged periods of time
  • Must possess functional sensory abilities in order to visually monitor the store, create attractive displays, and to operate equipment
  • The position requires the associate to lift up to 50 pounds on an occasional basis
WORK SCHEDULE The Grocery Night Lead is a full-time hourly position. The work schedule is 2:15 pm to 10:15 pm. Will include weekdays, weekends, and holidays.

Job Title: Meat Clerk FLSA Status: Hourly Reports To: Meat Manager Responsible for working closely with all meat counter associates in an effort to ensure all company policies and procedures are being followed, department goals are being obtained, and associates' needs are being met. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Provides customer service to guests
  • Assist guests with finding items they are looking for on or off the sales floor
  • Takes orders and other special requests
  • Answers the telephone and assists callers using proper phone etiquette
  • Addresses guest concerns and resolves issues when a guest is not satisfied with the service or product received, if in need further assistance, bring concern to Meat Manager
  • Watches over service case
  • Quality control
  • Makes sure products are rotated, using first in first out method
  • Garnish product
  • Makes sure case and everything around it is clean and tidy; no messes or spills
  • Be sure to have “New Item” signs and change out signs if things are on sale to the correct price.
  • Inventory and Temperatures
  • Take temperatures of everything regularly
  • Fill cupboards with containers, lids, spoons, tags, etc.
  • Required to maintain food safety logs.
  • Cleaning of the Meat Department.
  • Ensure all quality standards are being met, including quantity expectations at 100% by 10 am and 5 pm.
  • Other duties as assigned

  • Knowledge of the retail food business, thorough knowledge of perishable department operations, merchandising skills, and must be able to make timely and effective decisions

Job Title: Meat Cutter FLSA Status: Hourly Reports To: Meat Manager The Meat Cutter produces meat products by following recipes and department cutting standards in order to provide guests with a selection of quality meats. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Responsible for all meat production including cutting, trimming, grinding, wrapping, marinating, sausage making, etc.
  • Increases sales by ensuring visually appealing products
  • Reduces shrink by following production lists, recipes, following accurate trim standards, and minimizing waste
  • Provides customer service to guests
  • Assists guests with finding items they are looking for
  • Taking special orders and other special requests and completing them in a timely manner
  • Answers the telephone and assists callers using proper phone etiquette
  • Maintains an adequate level of supplies in the Meat department by replenishing items as needed.
  • Contributes to overall department goals and objectives by assisting other areas of the department as available and requested.
